Lembra que estávamos nos anos 60, em Londres, seguindo os passos dos Beatles?
Pois é exatamente isso que vamos continuar a fazer agora!!
Hoje visitaremos outros pontos que fazem parte da história do maior fenômeno musical de todos os tempos.
– Apple Boutique
Aos 32 anos, a surpreendente morte do empresário Brian Epstein, em 27/08/1967, teve enorme impacto na trajetória dos Beatles.
John, Paul, George e Ringo eram compositores, músicos e cantores excepcionais, mas não entendiam nada de negócios.
Aproveitando-se do vácuo deixado por Brian, surgiram pessoas com ideias que os Beatles deveriam colocar em prática para ganhar ainda mais dinheiro. Vejam só….
Foi então que, por uma destas sugestões, a Apple Boutique inaugurou em Dezembro de 1967 para vender roupas e outros itens relacionados aos Beatles. O enorme fracasso da loja logo ficou evidente, a ponto de fechar as portas em julho de 1968, portanto menos de um ano depois de aberta.
Detalhe: nos últimos dias de funcionamento, a loja ficou aberta para que as pessoas levassem gratuitamente tudo o que quisessem.

No endereço 17, St. Anne’s Court, entre 31 de Julho e 02 agosto de 1968, foi gravada a canção de maior sucesso dos Beatles, “Hey Jude”, de autoria de Paul McCartney.
Paul compôs em homenagem ao filho de John, Julian Lennon, seriamente abalado pela separação de seu pai e Cynthia Powell, sua mãe: a letra da canção fala em superação e Jude foi colocado no lugar de Jules, como o garoto era carinhosamente chamado.
Em 1969, os Beatles voltam ao Trident Studios para gravar algumas faixas do último trabalho do grupo, Abbey Road, lançado em 26/09/1969.

Sabe por quê?
Em 1965, no auge da fama do conjunto, Ringo Starr alugou o imóvel onde viveu por pouco tempo com sua esposa Maureen. O casal decidiu mudar-se para outra casa, pouco mais afastada de Londres.
Paul McCartney então assumiu o aluguel de Ringo, onde instalou equipamentos de gravação, transformando o apartamento em uma espécie de estúdio e refúgio.
Aqui, entre outras canções de sucesso, Paul compôs a genial “Eleanor Rigby”.
Em Dezembro de 1966, Paul devolveu o apartamento a Ringo, que o sublocou para ninguém menos do que Jimmi Hendrix, até ser despejado por ter pintado as paredes internas de PRETO.
Se eu fosse o Ringo, também colocaria Hendrix para fora…..Não dá, né?
Em 1968, durante a gravação do Álbum Branco, o imóvel passou para John Lennon, que a esta altura assumiu publicamente a união com Yoko Ono.
Portanto, este foi o primeiro endereço do casal Ono-Lennon.
Ainda em 68, John e Yoko usaram o apartamento como cenário para a infame fotografia de capa do LP “Two Virgins”. Ao que consta, o próprio John se incumbiu de tirar a foto.
Para se ter uma ideia da importância do endereço, em 23 de outubro de 2010, Yoko retornou ao 34, Montagu Square, desta vez para descerrar a placa azul do English Heritage, por considera-lo relevante parte de sua história e de John Lennon.

Elegante reduto de moda masculina, a rua é famosa pelas tradicionais alfaiatarias londrinas que nela atendem seus clientes há mais de um século.
Todavia, o imóvel 3, Savile Row ganhou fama por guardar importantes passagens dos Beatles:
Aqui foi aberta a gravadora Apple, que passou a produzir e lançar discos dos Beatles a partir do Álbum Branco. Provavelmente a gravadora foi mais uma ideia dos sucessores de Brian Epstein……
O LP e documentário Let It Be foram gravados no prédio, entre os dias 02 e 31 de Janeiro de 1969.
Na véspera do encerramento dos trabalhos, em 30 de janeiro de 1969, aconteceu no topo do edifício a última e antológica apresentação ao vivo do Beatles (final gig), quando interpretaram 9 músicas durante 42 minutos.
Detalhe: foram interrompidos por ordem policial, devido ao tumulto causado na redondeza…..
Ao final John Lennon agradeceu a todos em nome do grupo e disse esperar que houvesse passado no teste:
“Thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we‘ve passed the audition….”

Curiosidades: Let it Be foi finalizado entre Fevereiro e Março de 1970, sendo lançado simultaneamente com o documentário, em 08 de Maio de 1970. Portanto, o penúltimo disco gravado, mas último a ser lançado. A esta altura os estúdios da Apple em Savile Row já estavam desativados.

O estúdio onde tudo começou e terminou…. O fim de um ciclo.
Aqui, em 6/06/1962, ainda sem Ringo Starr, os Beatles fizeram os primeiros testes de gravação nas instalações da EMI Records, em Abbey Road.
Para sorte da humanidade, foram aprovados por George Martin…..
Anos depois, entre 22 de fevereiro e 20 de agosto de 69, foi gravado o último trabalho do grupo, divido entre o Trident Sound Studios e, novamente, Abbey Road Studios.
Durante 7 anos, diversas canções dos Beatles tornaram-se “clássicas” graças aos avançados equipamentos e da competente equipe de técnicos e produtores de Abbey Road.
A poucos passos do estúdio, no dia 08 de agosto de 1969, os Beatles cruzaram a faixa de pedestre para fotografar a icônica capa do disco que encerraria, com chave de ouro, a história do grupo musical de maior sucesso de todos os tempos.
O local da travessia tornou-se a “Meca” de milhões de fãs dos Beatles dos 4 cantos do mundo, que ali chegam diariamente para reproduzir a histórica cena deixada naquela manhã por George, Paul, Ringo e John.

É bom que se diga que, no dia da foto, os Beatles receberam apoio das autoridades de trânsito de Londres, uma vez que o tráfego em Abbey Road é constante.
No seu caso, não haverá esta possibilidade, portanto, cuidado redobrado, lembrando que as mãos de trânsito são invertidas, para complicar um pouco mais.
Detalhe importante: a travessia clássica começa do lado do estúdio e chega ao lado oposto da rua, senão não vale.
Já pensou que falha seria fazê-la no sentido contrário…????

Do you remember we were back in the 60’s, following the Beatles footsteps in London?
That’s exactly what we’re going to do right now!
Today we’ll talk about locations that are part of the biggest musical phenomenon of all time.
-Apple Boutique
At the age of 32 years, the surprising death of manager Brian Epstein, in 27th August,1967, had enormous impact on the Beatles’ life.
John, Paul, George and Ringo were great composers, musicians and singers, but they could not manage any business at all.
Taking advantage of the vacuum left by Brian, the Beatles were suggested putting new business into practice in order to make even more money. Get this..!!
In line with it, the Apple Boutique, opened the doors in December 1967 to sell clothes and other items related to the Beatles. The massive failure of the store soon became evident, so it was closed in July, 1968, therefore less than a year after launched.
Note: on the last days of operation, the store was open for people take for free everything they liked.

At 17, St. Annes Court, between July 31st and August 2nd , 1968, was recorded the greatest hit “Hey Jude”, written mainly by Paul McCartney.
Paul dedicated it to John’s son, Julian Lennon, seriously affected by the break-up of his father and his mother Cynthia Powell: the lyrics talk about overcoming and Jude has been put in place for Jules, as the kid was affectionately called by then.
In 1969, the Beatles returned to Trident Studios to record some tracks of their last work, Abbey Road, released in September 26th , 1969.

Few addresses keep most of Beatles’ story than 34, Montagu Square.
Do you wonder why?
In 1965, at the height of the Beatles’ fame, Ringo Starr leased the property, where he briefly lived with his wife Maureen.
Soon they decided moving to another house outside London.
Paul McCartney then took over Ringo’s lease to install recording equipments, transforming the flat in a sort of studio and refuge.
Among several hit songs, Paul composed the brilliant “Eleanor Rigby” at 34, Montagu Square.
In December, 1966, Paul returned the flat for Ringo, who subleased it to none other than Jimmi Hendrix, until being evicted for painting BLACK the inside walls.
In 1968, while recording the White Album, the estate passed to John Lennon, who had publicly assumed his marriage with Yoko Ono.
So this was the first Ono-Lennon’s address.
Still in 68, John and Yoko used the apartment as the setting for the infamous cover photo of “Two Virgins” LP. It seems John asked himself to take the picture.
Just to understand the address meaning, in October 23rd, 2010, Yoko returned to 34, Montagu Square, now for unveiling the English Heritage Blue plaque, considering it relevant part of her and John Lennon’s life.

Stylish menswear point, Savile Row is famous for traditional tailors in London, meeting their customers for over a century.
However, the property 3 Savile Row keeps important chapters related to the Beatles:
Apple label was raised here to produce and launch Beatles records from the White Album on. Probably another idea of Brian Epstein’s successors…..
The record and film Let It Be were recorded in this building, between January 02nd and 31st , 1969.
On the eve of the works closure, in January 30th, 1969, the Beatles’ last live performance (final gig) took place at the estate rooftop, when 9 songs have been performed during 42 minutes.
Note: the show was interrupted by police enforcement, due to the turmoil caused in building vicinity …
At the end of performance John Lennon thanked everyone on behalf of the Group and said he hoped to have passed the audition:
“Thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we’ve passed the audition. …”

Curiosities: Let it Be was completed between February and March, 1970, being released later, simultaneously with the film in May 8th, 1970.
Therefore, their next to last album has been the last one to be released.
At that time, Apple Studios in Savile Row had already been deactivated.

The Studio where the success began and ended…. The end of a cycle.
In June 6th, 1962, still without Ringo, the Beatles did their first recording test at EMI Records in Abbey Road.
Luckily for humanity, they have been approved by George Martin…
Between February 22nd and August 20th, 1969, the last work of the group was recorded, between Trident Sound Studios and, once more, Abbey Road Studios.
During 7 years, several Beatles’ songs became “classic” thanks to advanced equipment installed and Abbey Road’s amazing production team.
A few steps away from the Studio, on August 8th , 1969, the Beatles crossed Abbey Road crosswalk to take the album cover picture.
The location of the crossing became the “Mecca” of thousands of Beatles devotees from all over the world, who daily try to reproduce the historical scene left that morning by George, Paul, Ringo and John.

It’s worth to mention that on the picture’s day the Beatles were supported by the London transit Authority, once Abbey Road traffic is quite intense.
Therefore, in your case, be extra careful, noting that in Britain the drive is on the left
side of the road, what makes matters a bit more complicated.
Relevant note: the classic crossing begins on the Studio side then reaching the opposite sidewalk of the road.
So you guys be sure to do the right crossing . Can I trust you???
