Se há um assunto que os italianos levam a sério, é a alimentação, e com toda razão, afinal todos nesse mundo apreciam e admiram a fantástica comida italiana.
Só de falar, já dá vontade de comer…..
Em sua viagem por Roma, e pelo resto da Itália, todos os caminhos levarão a um bom restaurante, fique tranquilo!!
Certa vez eu li que, independente do país onde estiver, não se aperte na hora de comer: procure um restaurante italiano para não errar.
Além da enorme variedade de pratos (pizzas, massas e muitas outras maravilhas) os restaurantes italianos recebem classificações, que vamos tentar desvendar para facilitar sua vida na hora da escolha:
Osteria – ambiente simples, com poucas mesas, dando a impressão de exclusividade. Normalmente é gerido pela própria família e oferece um cardápio com poucos pratos.
Trattoria – está num estágio acima da Osteria, por ser um ambiente familiar, gerido pela família, porém dispõe de garçons e cozinheiros contratados. Os pratos, em geral, seguem uma tradição regional italiana (carbonara, pesto, etc) e sua preparação é primorosamente elaborada.
Taverna – é um tipo de bar no qual as pessoas se encontram para conversar, comer e beber.
Ristorante – Ambiente mais formal, com equipe de profissionais contratados. Em geral mais sofisticados e com maior variedade de pratos. Mesas com toalha de pano, talheres finos, louças combinando e por aí vai.
Vamos então conhecer alguns deles:
– Alfredo di Roma
Talvez nenhum outro restaurante da cidade tenha a merecida fama do Alfredo di Roma, afinal é uma tradição que passa de pai para filho desde 1908, estando no mesmo endereço desde 1950: Piazza Augusto Imperatore, 30 – Roma.
Uma verdadeira dinastia iniciada por Alfredo I, passando por Alfredo II e atualmente está no Alfredo III.
O prato mundialmente conhecido é o Fettuccini Alfredo, criado por “Alfredo I” durante a gravidez de sua esposa e incluído no cardápio por sugestão da mesma.
A lista de celebridades que frequentaram o Alfredo di Roma é enorme:
Reis da Espanha, Reis da Suécia, Frank Sinatra, Silvester Stallone, Sophia Loren, Ringo Starr, John Wayne, Jack Lemmon, Cristina Onassis, Paulo Roberto Falcão, Alfred Hitchcock, Pelé e muitos outros.
Portanto, vale a pena conhecer o endereço e provar as maravilhas ali servidas.
– Ristorante Sabatini
Do outro lado do rio que corta Roma, fica Trastevere, onde está o famoso Castelo de Sant’Angelo, além do Vaticano que dispensa apresentações.
Estando pela região, não deixe de ir ao Sabatini, fundado em 1958, portanto outro tradicional restaurante romano.
Por volta de 2012 mudou-se para o endereço Piazza Santa Maria In Trastevere, 13, bem próximo de onde anteriormente ficava.
Fui ao antigo endereço e não encontrei. Que decepção!!!
Com ajuda de algumas pessoas locais fui chegando cada vez mais perto, até que perguntei a um senhor de avental se conhecia o restaurante Sabatini, quando, para minha alegria, ouvi: “Sabatini sono Io”
Valeu a pena!!!!
Recomendo ir de dia, principalmente quando o tempo estiver bom, para almoçar em uma das mesas externas, com belíssima vista para a praça, fonte e Basilica di Santa Maria.

– Tre Scalini
Localizado na belíssima Piazza Navona, 30 – 35, o Tre Scalini funciona no mesmo endereço desde Janeiro de 1815, portanto há pouco mais de 200 anos. Incrível…!!!!!
Quer uma referência?
Bem próximo do obelisco central da praça, na Fontana di Fiumi, do mesmo lado da igreja Sant’Agnese in Agone.
No lado esquerdo da foto, já se vê o toldo do restaurante.
Sua especialidade são pratos tradicionais romanos e italianos. Há um belo ambiente interno, mas sugiro sentar-se na parte externa, de frente para a imensa praça, cujo formato se assemelha a um antigo estádio romano.
Escolha o horário de sua conveniência, pois o visual é lindo de dia ou de noite. Aliás, não dá para saber quando é mais bonito.
Se eu puder opinar, sugiro que prove a lasanha com molho de sua preferência, mas deixo ao seu critério.
A sobremesa também costuma ser ótima, mas, se preferir, atravesse a praça, ande 80 metros para a esquerda, no sentido da Fontanna del Nettuno e, no endereço Via Agonale – 3 irá encontrar a sorveteria GROM.
Se tiver fila, não desanime, o serviço é rápido e os sabores são incríveis. Aguarde.
Agora volte e continue caminhando pela Piazza Navona, enquanto toma seu delicioso sorvete.

If there is a subject that Italian people take it seriously is the food, and with good reason after all everyone in this world appreciate and admire the fantastic Italian food.
Just talking, it makes me feel like eating …
On your journey to Rome, and the rest of Italy, all roads will lead you to a good restaurant, don’t worry!
I once read that, wherever in the world you are, don’t panic in time to eat: look for an Italian restaurant not to miss.
In addition to the huge variety of dishes (pizzas, pasta and many other wonders) the Italian restaurants receive ratings I’ll try to unveil to make your life easier at the moment of choice:
Osteria – simple environment, with a few tables, giving the impression of exclusivity. Is typically managed by the own family and offers a menu with a few dishes.
Trattoria – is a step ahead the Osteria for being a family-like atmosphere, also run by the owner’s family but has hired waiters and cooks. The dishes, in general, follow a regional Italian tradition (carbonara, pesto, etc) and their preparation is basically hand-made.
Tavern – is a type of bar where people meet to talk, eat and drink.
Ristorante – more formal environment, with a team of hired professionals. Generally more sophisticated with a great variety of dishes. Tables with cloth towel, cutlery, dishes combining and so on.
Now let’s know some of them:
-Alfredo di Roma
Perhaps no other restaurant in town has the well-deserved reputation of the Alfredo di Roma, after all it is a tradition passing from father to son since 1908, at the same address since 1950: Piazza Augusto Imperatore, 30-Rome.
A true dynasty started by Alfredo I, then Alfredo II and currently Alfredo III.
The dish known worldwide is the Fettuccine Alfredo, created by “Alfredo I” during the pregnancy of his wife and included on his menu as per her suggestion.

On the other side of the river that cuts Rome is Trastevere, where the famous Castle of Sant’Angelo stands , in addition to the Vatican city that needs no introduction at all.
While in the region, be sure to go to Sabatini, founded in 1958, therefore another traditional Roman restaurant.
Around 2012 Ristorante Sabatini moved to Piazza Santa Maria In Trastevere, 13, not too far from it previously was.
I went to the old address but not found it. What a disappointment!
With the help of some local people I was coming closer and closer until I asked an old sir wearing an apron, where Ristorante Sabatini was, when to my delight I heard:
“Sabatini sono Io” (I am Sabatini)
It was worth it!!
I recommend going there during the day, especially when the weather is fine so you can lunch in one of the external tables, with beautiful views of the square, fountain and Basilica di Santa Maria.
Nothing more typical……..

-Tre Scalini
Located in the beautiful Piazza Navona, 30-35, the Tre Scalini works at the same address since January 1815, so a little more than 200 years.

Want a reference?
Very close to the the central obelisk in Fontana di Fiumi, on the same side of the Church Sant’Agnese in Agone.
At the left side of the picture you’ll see the restaurant’s awning.
Their specialty is traditional Roman and Italian dishes. There is a beautiful indoor environment, but I suggest sitting outside facing the immense square, whose format resembles an ancient Roman Stadium.
Choose the time of your convenience, because the view is beautiful by day or night. In fact, there’s no way to know when it’s more beautiful.
If I may suggest you, try the lasagna with sauce of your preference, but I leave it to your choice.
The dessert is often great, but if you prefer, cross the square, walk 80 meters to the left, heading to the Fontanna del Nettuno, then at the address Via Agonale -3 you will find the ice cream shop GROM.
If you see a line, do not be discouraged cause the service is fast and the flavors are amazing.
Hold on!!
Now go back and continue walking along the Piazza Navona, while enjoying your delicious ice cream.
